Multiple version of nHydrate on single Windows client machine

May 9, 2012 at 10:20 PM

Hi Codetools,

I have been using nHydrate (non EF version - v3.6.0.172) for a long time. I have my 2 projects already in production. The new project I am making has a IT team strategy to use EF instead of plain ADO.Net (non EF). For this I would like to download and use the latest nHydrate which supports EF 4 on .Net framework 4.0. Can I keep both the versions on single machine? Or does the latest version has backward compatibility to use non EF model? Please help me asap.

Thanks,

Manish

I think you can both on one system. The new 5.0 version has is visual and is a separate plug-in for Visual Studio. It does not generate the ADO.NET templates. If you still wish to gen with these templates you will have to use the 4.2 version. The visual modeler is strictly an Entity Framework modeler.
